Bordeaux and the Marathon du Medoc

The Marathon du Medoc is often referred to as the 'Wine Marathon.' On balance, there is far more wine featured on the weekend than actual marathon running but the combination of the two is the stuff of legends when it comes to marathons. 

We should have been arriving in Bordeaux today but instead we are in international lockdown and the race has been cancelled. So a virtual trip and running commentary it is. 

Bordeaux is a beautiful city - simple as that. It is very walkable and the Garonne River is a feature with cafes, shops and bistros lining the boulevard that runs along its shores. The marathon weekend in Bordeaux is second to none when it comes to good times, laughter, friendship and whacky costumes.
