Midnight Sun Marathon

The Midnight Sun Marathon is held in Tromsø, the very north of Norway, 400km above the Arctic Circle. Apart from the splendor of the Norwegian natural scenery, the key offering of the Midnight Sun Marathon is in its name! The marathon takes place during Norway's high season for the midnight sun, where the sun never sets, and flora, fauna and indeed, people, are given an energy boost. Few people can say they've run in broad daylight in during the night. Be one of them!

COURSE

The Midnight Sun Marathon starts and finishes in the city centre.After 2km you cross the Bridge of Tromso, which rises up from 6 to 43m over sea level and brings runners to Tromsdalen. The sight of the Arctic Cathedral with the mountains behind is a superb view. After 20km you cross back over the bridge and return through the city centre. The second half of the course is mainly flat and quite easy to run.
Time limit:  5hr 30m

 The Half Marathon is relatively flat and follows the same route as the last 21km of the marathon. 
Time limit:  3hrs 30m

Each kilometre is marked for the marathon and half marathon. The first mark is 42km, indicating there is 42km to go. 

The 10km goes from the city centre, around the southern tip of the island and returns back to the city centre. The finish line is on Mainstreet Storgata.
