Ballarat Marathon

RunFun Travel is proud to be a partner of the inaugural Ballarat Marathon. 2024 will saw the launch of this new event in arguably Australia’s most prominent regional running centre, Ballarat. Over 4,500 entries were received for the event, firmly stamping the event as one of the most popular regional events to be held. 

There are five distances over a two day extravaganza. On Saturday afternoon/evening there will be the street mile and 5km, and on Sunday morning there will be the Ballarat Marathon, half marathon and 10km. 

All courses go through Ballarat’s beautiful and historic CBD with the start/finish line in Sturt St, the main street of Ballarat. The courses will be fast and relatively flat. Dave is actually in Ballarat right now measuring the courses so they will all be certified by World Athletics, meaning times will be eligible for rankings and qualification purposes, such as Boston qualifiers.

The Ballarat Marathon has teamed up with the local running groups to provide pacers in the marathon and half marathon.

The Ballarat Marathon will be a welcome addition to the Australian running calendar – an event for everyone, from elite runners to those who want try road running for the first time.
