The Sunshine Coast stretches from Caloundra to Rainbow Beach and takes in popular holiday spots such as Mooloolaba and Noosa. It is an hour's drive from Brisbane and has dozens of pristine beaches, beautiful hinterland backdrop, modern and award-winning restaurants, plenty of shopping and tourist attractions.
The Sunshine Coast Marathon and Community Running Festival starts and finishes in Alexandra Headland. Event distances include the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and the 2km. Each road race follows the stunning coastline of Alexandra Headlands with white sandy beaches and spectacular vantage points alongside the ocean. The Half Marathon is a one loop course with Marathon entrants completing a multi loop course (1 x 21km + 2 x 10.5km’s) making the most of the on-course entertainment and crowds of spectators before a red carpet ‘hero’ finish.
Online entries will be accepted unto 17 August 2017. Late entries accepted on 18 Friday and until 3pm Saturday, prior to race day.
All runners must collect their race pack prior to the event, from the Event Precinct, Alexandra Headland SLSC. No race pack collection permitted on race day.
The Expo is held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Race Precinct, Alex Surf Club.
All races start from the Alexandra Headlands Surf Club.
Two pace runners are provided for the following times.
There is an overall cut off time of 6hrs, with interim check points.
Prize money payable to the top three placegetters in the Sunshine Coast Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km, both men and women. All finishers received a commemorative medal.
