Sanlam Cape Town Marathon

Running the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is unique way to experience the gorgeous highlights and the vibrant spirit of one of Africa’s most visited and most celebrated cities.  It is an ideal race both for athletes who aim to achieve fast times, and for first-timers who want to finish their inaugural marathon.  The route is wheelchair-friendly, and the 7 hour cut-off time can accommodate the social runner.

The Sunlam Cape Town Marathon is an IAAF Gold Label event.

46km and 22km Trail Runs

The 46km and 22km trails are run through the Table Mountain National Park. Runners will traverse from the stadium to above the city through flora, fauna and sweeping vistas of the Atlantic. The trail weaves through one of the world’s most diverse and rare floral kingdoms, the Cape Floristic Region. Many species on this trail are not found anywhere else on Earth.

Marathon 

The 42.2km Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is a prestigious global city race open to a whole spectrum of running enthusiasts from elite athletes to social runners. Along the scenic route, you will experience multiple views of Table Mountain, the Atlantic Ocean, historic landmarks, as well as many famous attractions and the hustle and bustle of Woodstock.

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is home to ASA Marathon Championships. Running the marathon is unique way to experience the gorgeous highlights and the vibrant spirit of one of Africa’s most visited and most celebrated city. It is an ideal race both for athletes who aim to achieve fast times, and for first-timers who want to finish their inaugural marathon. The route is wheelchair-friendly, and the 6 hour 30 minute cut-off time can accommodate the social runner.

Expo

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Registration and EXPO will take place at the Cape Town Stadium. All runners must register and collect their race packs prior to the race at the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Exhibition.

Medical Support

There will be a full medical and massage tent at the finish. Several mobile ER24 ambulances or Medical Personnel will be stationed approximately every 5km along the route.

Supporters
