The Maui Marathon and Half Marathon is renowned for being one of the most scenic marathon courses in the world. Following the main route from Kahului to Ka’anapali, runners are treated to some of the most spectacular mountain and ocean views that Maui has to offer. This 26.2-mile course is recognized as one of the ten most scenic marathons in the USA as well as the oldest consecutive running marathon in Hawaii. A major portion of the course runs within 50 feet of the Pacific Ocean.
Comfortable weather conditions, a relatively flat course and world class resort facilities make the JTB Maui Marathon not only a perfect place to run but also an amazing place to spend preparing for and recovering from the big race.
The Maui Marathon course is a point to point course, from Kahului to Ka'anapali and is a mixture of flat residential streets, rolling hills and a 7 mile flat stretch along the ocean front, hopefully with the wind at your back. The course is recognised as one of the ten most scenic marathons in the USA and a major proportion of the course runs within 50 feet of the Pacific Ocean.
The Maui Half Marathon is a flat, out and back course, from Whaler's Village in Ka'anapali Resort. The fast and flat course passes thorugh Lahaina Town.
Marathon: 5:00am from Maui Mall
Half Marathon: 5:00am from Whaler's Village Shopping Center
Half Marathon: 4hrs
Race Packs must be picked up from the Race Expo on Friday or Saturday (depending on event). Marathon and Half Marathon runners can pick up on either Friday or Saturday at the expo.
Saturday: late packet pickup 6:00pm to 8:00pm, post expo.
The Maui Marathon Expo will be held at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa.

The Maui Marathon has a total of 20 aid stations on the course, including the start and finish lines. All aid stations have water and Powerade and select stations have sponges, fruit and/or trail mix snack. Powerade is the official drink of the Maui Marathon. It will be at all 20 aid stations on the course. Please train with it if you can. This drink will help replenish the electrolytes that you lose while out on the course and sweating. Flavour will be fruit flavor.
The finish line will hav fruit, water, Powerade, chocolate milk and other goodies. There will be other items for sale at the finsih line. There is live Hawaiian entertainment for you to enjoy while you sit and recover after your run.
A commemorative finisher’s medal will be given to all runners as they cross the finish line. Finisher’s shirts can be picked up at the Health And Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday and sizes can be exchanged after races are completed if shirts have not been worn.
Marathon: Marathon shuttle buses will leave at on Sunday at 3:15am in front of Westin Maui Resort and Spa. Last bus will leave at 3:45am. Shuttle will take you to the Maui Mall.
Half Marathon: Shuttle Buses will be available from the Maui Mall to the Westin Ka’anapali (adjacent to Whaler’s Village start area), leaving the Mall at 3:30am
Your personal items can be left at the start line, in a labelled, plastic bag. You can claim your bag at the finish line.
There will be a medical tent at the finish line helping anyone in need of assistance before, during and after the race. Medical vans will be on the course just in case runners need help during race or assistance to go back to finish line. There will be four nurses stations on the course as well, to help with any needs runners may have during race. Aid stations 4,9,13, and 16 will have nurses stations. There will be a runner pick up van that will assist runners who cannot finish race but who are not in need of medical attention.

You can expect the temperature to be in the mid 70's (23 celcius) at 5.30am and in the low 80’s (28 degrees) by 11am.
